Creating and selling a digital product is a great way to drive less time-intensive revenue into your business, and help you reach higher revenue months than 1:1 services alone.

But just creating something and hoping people will flock to it with no strategy involved isn’t the best move. Actually, it’s a bad move.

Let’s think about the logistics of selling a digital product: How are you going to create this product? How will you deliver it? And do you have a way to get paid?

I want you to be set up for success, so today I’m walking you through HOW to sell your digital products.

As in what methods to use to logistically get them out there and into your customers’ hands. Because not having that figured out can literally keep you from making money.

Tool #1: Your digital product creator

Actually creating your digital product may seem like the hardest part, but depending on what you’re selling, it can be surprisingly easy. Most of the time, all you’ll need is one of the following:

These are all very easy to share online and through email without needing any sort of advanced tool. If you want to catch a rundown of how to use them to create a digital product, you can find that walkthrough in this video!

Tool #2: Your digital product delivery system

This is non-negotiable because it’s the easiest, most time-efficient way to deliver your digital products (and as a small business owner, I know you don’t have time to waste!).

I highly recommend FG Funnels because they have an automated email system inside the software. And trust me, you do not want to be sending these emails out manually! That will lead to missed orders, confusion, and frustration for the customer (“Why haven’t I gotten my order yet?”), and stress on YOU from needing to remember it all.

FG Funnels is one of the most important tools I use in my business every single day because the platform is ALL in one. I can also create the sales pages for my offers and can video walkthroughs once they purchase it!

But you find FG Funnels isn’t quite your thing, there are other options. A few of my clients inside of $10K On Replay recommend Flodesk and ConvertKit (they’re just not as extensive as FG Funnels).

Tool #3: Your digital product payment processor

Okay so, maybe this is the most important part of creating and delivering your digital product. You want to get paid for all of your hard work, right?!

The most popular way to collect payment is through PayPal. You can get links to embed directly onto your sales pages. Just keep in mind that if you decide to use it, you’ll be taking on higher fees than most other payment processors.

AND they tend to side with the buyer. So if someone makes a faulty claim about their purchase, and wants their money back, you’re pretty much SOL.

Stripe is another great way to process payment. It’s a paid service, but it does a lot more to protect both the buyers and sellers. I usually win any charge back on Stripe about 90% of the time because I have a clear refund policy on my page and take the time to provide proof to protect my intellectual property.

Digital products are a great way to boost your revenue, but that doesn’t mean everything’s going to be smooth sailing. What you need is a PLAN to make it happen — the advertising, the marketing, finding a great idea…the whole enchilada!

A few weeks ago, I did a video detailing the five must-knows before selling a digital product. Give it a look before you make any big moves!
