You didn’t start your online business to deal with a revenue rollercoaster! So why does it feel like one month you’re crushing it. But the next one is rough enough to make you want to burn it all down and send in an application to work at Starbucks?

I totally get how you feel because for years, that’s exactly what business was like. But eventually, I learned how to stop the ride altogether and hone in my strategy to get consistent sales with my evergreen courses.

And I know if I can do it, then you can too! “How??” you may ask…

That’s what I’ll be showing you in this post! Read on to get the 411.

Why evergreen course launches are important

While I still think live launches are great, I’d say that they’re best used a few times a year to keep urgency up. But evergreen launches are a great thing to keep in your biz back pocket all year long.

Because what an evergreen course does is give you consistent sales. But you can’t just set it and forget it. So how do you promote a course that’s always available?

My answer will 100% not shock you. YouTube!!!

How YouTube can help you promote your evergreen course

There are a few reasons why I think YouTube is the best place to promote your evergreen courses.

#1: Search-based traffic

People will find you by actively looking for a solution that YOU offer (aka…your course).

Search traffic can help you target your viewers so it’s easier for them to find you. It’s all in the power of keywords and SEO, but YouTube makes it much easier to take advantage of that. YouTube is another form of a search engine, after all.

#2: You don’t need loads of subscribers or viewers

As an online business, you’re not relying on YouTube monetization to make your money. YouTube is there to help you push sales. Not be your sole source of income (unless you want to be a YouTuber of course. Then right on!).

And when you’ve built up an audience of qualified leads, it doesn’t really matter HOW many of them there are. 10 people who are going to buy from you are better than 10,000 who won’t.

#3: Long-form content brings better leads

Long-form content typically leads to more serious leads. Someone who watches your 10-15 minute video about how you do XYZ is much more likely to be interested in your course that goes in-depth about how you do XYZ.

Because when somebody is watching your video they're getting a sense of who you are and how you work. This longer form content shows that you know what you're talking about, too.

Ultimately, it builds loyalty and trust with your audience. It helps them decide it's you they want to invest in instead of someone or something else.

Long-form content leads to connection. And connections lead to sales.

How to implement YouTube into your evergreen course content strategy

Now that you know how YouTube can help you sell your evergreen course, there’s one very important thing you need to know about implementing this into your content strategy.

Understand your level 10 viewer.

Your level 10 viewer is the one who is ready to commit. The top of the funnel. The warmest of leads.

And there’s all kinds of content that you can create — sometimes you do need to appeal to colder leads. But when you understand who you’re really making content for, you can get a better sense of how that cold lead could turn into a warm one. Because you’re taking time to understand the journey.

And the more of your level 10 viewer that watches your videos, the better. Not just so you can drive traffic to your evergreen course. But also because it helps the YouTube algorithm know who to push your videos to.

And the more it knows about that, the better.

Use the Profitable Keyword Framework

Now, how do you know which of your content is pulling its weight to make all this happen? I use what I like to call the Profitable Keyword Framework

It’s essentially the process of diving in and finding the exact keywords and phrases that highlight the pain points of your audience. And to find this data, I like to use Vid IQ

You can take all of those keywords and phrases and find out how many times it’s searched per month on YouTube. Which can show you how saturated a keyword or phrase is.

Because the more saturated, though popular, the harder it will be to be discovered. You want to show up in the results of what people are searching, but you don’t want to get lost in the noise either.

It’s all about balance, and Vid IQ can help you see where that balance lies!
