When I say six figures, do you light up at the possibility, or does it feel more like an out-of-reach reality? If so, I want to tell you something — it’s not as out of reach as you think it is.

Creating a sustainable six-figure business does take a lot of work, yes, but it’s also reliant on good strategy. Not the most experience. Not the coolest new course, mastermind, or even app.

It’s just 3 simple tactics.

I’m going into my 7th year in online business and as I grow, I’ve come to realize these tactics are really all you need to scale your business to that $6K. These are basically like the 3 legs of your business stool — and you need all three to keep it standing.

Products

There are only so many hours in the day, and you aren’t going to be able to scale to six figures with 1:1 services alone. But you can’t exactly do it with a shop full of small $50 and under products either. It may work if you have a larger audience, but for someone just starting out, something more in the $100-$500 range would be more helpful.

But courses may not do it either. In fact, in the first few years of my business, while I was making six figures, it wasn’t 100% because of products OR courses.

I truly believe that to help you scale your products and services because each is just one leg on your six-figure business stool.

And if you’re reading this thinking, “Yes! I want to do a course. Sounds great.” Then I recommend checking out Funnel Gorgeous' program, Course Chemist. Yes, I’m an affiliate, but I use everything they’ve taught me through it inside Video Strategy Academy. I wouldn’t tell my students about it if I didn’t love it and it wasn’t helpful!

Services

Services are starting to get a bad reputation because all people want to talk about these days is passive income (that isn’t always TRULY passive income). Those products are fine and dandy, but that doesn’t mean services have to be obsolete either. There are still people who need what you have to offer.

Keeping services in your offer lineup doesn’t mean booking yourself out to the max. It could also look like:

  • Running VIP days and only working with a few clients per week

  • Retainers services where you dedicate a certain number of hours to the client for a fixed, monthly price

  • Choose to only tackle one or two big projects per month

You have the power to do as much or as little as you want when you own a business. However, when you’re first starting out, don’t let that make you cock. But don’t let the hustle culture mentality bog you down either.

PRO TIP: Always have a contract

If there is any advice you take away from this post, it would be the — DO NOT DO ANY KIND OF CLIENT WORK WITHOUT A CONTRACT.

Trust me, contacts have saved my butt more than a few times and boy was I relieved to have them!

They help you make sure you keep necessary boundaries in place, get paid on time, and that clients aren’t taking advantage of you. Literally, no matter what type of service you provide, they are well worth investing in.

PSSST — if you want some good contract templates pre-made for you (and ones that are trustworthy too), I highly recommend The Contract Shop®!

A traffic-generating machine

The only way people will buy from or work with you is if they know who you are. You need to get those eyeballs on your offers!

And content? That’s what will drive traffic the most in 2023…well more specifically, video content…okay, actually, super specifically, YouTube

This is the #1 traffic-generating machine you need. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — if you really, truly, want to scale your business, YouTube is the way to go.

That’s because it’s not playing the same kind of social media games other platforms are. Its algorithm is straightforward and creator-serving rather than feeling like it’s just feeding a machine. In other words, it feels like your content has a fairer shot at doing what it’s supposed to (driving traffic to your website).

Learn how to get consistent with that content

Even if you think you don’t have time to make YouTube videos, or you’ve never been in front of the camera a day in your life (aside from those cheesy home movies of course), trust me, friend, you CAN do YouTube.

And Going Video can show you how!

This is my proven blueprint for service providers and course creators who want to STOP putting money into expensive ads (which work SOMETIMES), wasting time on content that’s NOT driving sales and ACTUALLY drive more organic traffic to your offers with strategic viral videos!

You’ll learn:

  • The formula for a binge-worthy video

  • The top tips and tricks to speed up your video production process

  • How to put all the pieces of video content creation together with the simplified process
