10 Digital Product Ideas That Can Help You Make $1,000 in a Week

Running a business is expensive. The irony is that to make money, you have to spend money — paying for contractors, paying for software, buying supplies…

There's a lot that goes into it, and to keep the lights on, we've got to make money. But there are only so many hours in the day, and when you're booked full with client work or have tons of orders to fulfill, what can you do to ensure enough income is coming in without needing to be in two places at once?

Two words, friends: Digital products

Digital products are a great way to make passive income in your business without sacrificing any extra time in your schedule. You will have to put in some extra work initially, but it'll be worth it when you can finally take your side hustle full time, take that vacation you've always dreamed of, or finally pay off your credit card debt.

Benefits of Selling Digital Products

Unlike launching a course or membership program, you can sell your products anytime, anywhere. You aren't on a launch sequence, so you can start incorporating these into your business model no matter what you have planned for the year.

They're also helpful for building an email list that actually buys from you. If your email list is just made up of freebie opt-ins, you may not be making as much as you could from that list. When someone purchases a lower price point product from you, they'll get automated into your email list and can hear about the higher price point products and services like your membership or 1:1 coaching.

With digital products, you're also giving people a glimpse into what it would be like to work with you before they make the investment. Then, if they really resonate with your biz, the chances of wanting in on your 1:1 coaching services or online course are much higher.

That first dollar spent is the hardest sale to make, but this gives you a clearer path ahead to bring in more income once you’ve got their attention.

Learn How to Make $1,000 a Week With Digital Products

How can digital products get your $1,000 a week? It's simple math.

Your goal may not be to hit $1,000 in passive income, and that's okay. But I want you to understand that this isn't an impossible goal. You just need to understand the math behind it (and have a solid marketing strategy in place).

The conversion rate is anywhere from 2-5% for lower price point sales.

If you wanted to sell a digital product for $27, you would need about 37 sales per week to make that $1,000 happen. But how do you get people to get to that point?

If you take the lowest end of the conversion rate (2%), you would need 1,900 eyes on your sales page every week. I know that sounds like a lot, but getting eyes on lower-priced items isn't so bad with the right marketing tactics. People don't have to think through a big purchase like they'd have to with membership or course

10 Digital Product Ideas You Can Make Work in Your Own Biz

Start brainstorming the right digital product for your business. What kind of solution can your business offer the world? What is it your business does, and how can that service solve your ideal customer's problems?

Canva Templates

This is a hot commodity because EVERYONE is using Canva, and business owners NEED a way to streamline their design process.

It doesn't matter what line of business you're in, everyone needs well-designed marketing collateral. Though many people use Canva to quickly design their social media graphics, they can also be used for tons of other things like PDFs, YouTube thumbnails, blog graphics…the list goes on.

Project Management Templates

Listen, people want to get their crap organized, even if they don’t seem like the organized type. We all want that structure, we just don’t always have the time to make it happen. No one likes running around like the sky is falling every time they have to look for an important document in an SOP or start a new project and work out all the fine details.

People want rules and systems, and if you're well-versed in project management software like Asana, Trello, Click-Up, or Monday.com, you can sell templates that people can upload and easily input their information.

Swipe Copy Templates

Swipe copy pretty much just means you can copy and paste, take out templated lines of text or phrases, and add your own in a snap. I'm not a copywriter, so the idea of getting easy, well-written copy for social media or emails where I can just fill in the blanks? Yes please sign me up!

Sell Your Ideas

Getting started can be the hardest part, especially on social media. Us business owners tend to get stuck thinking about what to post because we want it to be perfect and want to make sure it still converts.

Selling your content ideas is a smart way to bring in some extra cash.

I just purchased a social media content idea PDF not too long ago. I've got tons of ideas for my line of business ready to go in a snap, so I don't have to spend hours content planning (yes, even coaches need a little help every now and then).

Copy Templates

This is different from swipe templates.

Swipe templates are meant to be quick and easy swaps, but sales pages and other web copy can be a bit more complex. You can still sell templates for web pages that help people get started with the copy on their own site, providing the structure and guidance from the get-go.

Digital Art

My friend at Janet Gwen Designs creates printable quote graphics for her online shop. When people purchase them from her, all they have to do is print them out and hang them wherever they choose.

You can sell your prints without the hassle of going through a printer to sell a physical product.

Lightroom Presets

Many of us know how to take decent pictures with our iPhones, but editing? Not so much. If you're a Photographer, selling Lightroom presets that can be used on both the mobile app and desktop version can help you reach your income goals. There are tons of business owners out there who need products like that.

I bought some from Cathrin Manning a while back, and they have changed my life!

Digital Downloads

I'm grouping these together because it makes sense in my head (and if it doesn't in yours, just bear with me).

Think about what you can offer to support streamlining and how you can best sell that information. Is it in a workbook? A checklist? Something else they can download?

The great thing about these is that they can feed directly into your membership or course. You can nurture those who purchase through your email list so when launch time rolls around, they're warmed up and ready to get further along that value ladder.

Other Software Templates

Web design templates, Dubsado templates, FG funnel templates. You can pretty much make a template for everything. A good rule of thumb is that if you're using it, someone else is too, and there are even more people out there who are struggling with it and could use your help.

Template Memberships

You can also create a membership for all of your templates, where people can pay one flat membership fee and then access all your templates/resources. I am a big fan of this idea because it shows people they're getting quality information and getting more bang for their buck (who doesn't like saving money?!)
