Why I’m Quitting YouTube Coaching in 2023

In 2023, things will look a little different around here… because I’ll no longer be focusing on YouTube coaching. Things are due for a change!

There’s no one big reason why, and niching down like this has gotten me to where I am today. However, it feels like YouTube coaching is just not where I’m supposed to be anymore.

For years, I fought the notion to focus on coaching (not just YouTube), but because of my insecurities, I never did. After getting my gallbladder removed in late 2022 (around the same time I started a new coaching group), and attending a life-changing mastermind event, I felt like the fog was lifted — and I could finally see what I really wanted to do.

So going forward, my channel will be focusing on helping business owners like you grow your biz to hit that six-figure mark. I'm so excited about the people I will get to work with and the audience I will get to serve along the way!

Why I made this decision

I recently talked about my goals for 2023 and what, in particular, I wanted to focus on. One of those goals was self-care, so I decided before 2022 was over to take a walk down memory lane and reread some of my old journals and planners.

And noticed something: I always felt like I was being held back. Or just generally struggling with the feeling that I wasn’t “qualified enough” to teach YouTube.

I was living in a constant state of feeling like I needed to prove myself, and like I never did enough because my numbers weren’t “big” (subscriber count), even though my channel was bringing in a major influx of revenue. I personally think that my bank account is a better measure of success than how many subscribers I have, but that’s just the YouTube coaching game.

And if you don’t have that whooping hundreds of thousands of subscribers, you’re not taken seriously.

Overall, I just got tired of being in a toxic space like that and trying to make myself feel like I belonged.

But the Trena Little YouTube channel isn’t going anywhere

That doesn’t mean I’m bidding farewell to YouTube, don’t worry. It’s still my number one traffic source and the bulk of the content I create, but I've decided to pivot in a way that allows me to feel less negativity and step into my role as an educator with confidence.

In 2022, I launched my first-ever coaching program, $10K on Replay, and have been able to work with so many great entrepreneurs. And while YouTube was a big focal point, working on the other business pieces felt genuinely fulfilling in a way my business hadn’t felt before. It made me realize…THIS is what I needed to be focusing on because it’s where my passion lies.

So basically, I’m taking what I know and pivoting the focus from just YouTube to how to grow your business in a way that feels attainable.

My goals for my YouTube channel moving forward

For the longest time, I really tried to avoid the coaching space or even just calling myself a coach because I know the reputation a lot of them have, and it’s not always a good one.

Now, I do not think all of the rumors are true, I happen to have a great business coach myself, but I do understand why people feel the way they do. But the experience I’ve had with my own coach has led me to realize that it could be my calling too.

So with that being said, here’s what the new and improved TL YouTube channel will focus on!

Being transparent

You won’t find click-baity information here. I’m going to be giving you the real, honest truth about what it’s like to work your way up to a six-figure business. I think we need more honesty in the world about that because it's a lot harder than highlight reels make it seem.

I’m not saying that it isn’t possible, but what I am saying is that it will take work to find what is the best way to do that for you. No cookie-cutter strategies here.

Being helpful

I want everyone who watches my videos to walk away feeling like it helped them do something, whether that’s feeling inspired to create content, how to organize your calendar, etc. I want to provide insight where I can so you don’t have to experience the 7 years of hustle I did. Work smarter, not harder!

Building a community

I know firsthand how hard it can be to find your people, find a community of others that understand the responsibilities that come with being a business owner (on top of being other things like a mom, wife, daughter, full-time employee, etc.). I want to create something that can help others share their experiences and offer support.

And I want to do it with all the transparency and help I can offer!

And now I need your help

In my agency, we’ve made it our goal to help 1,000 or more female entrepreneurs hit $100,000 by the end of 2024. And to do that, I need to know what you need from me to help you get there.

I want to make sure the content I produce is helpful, so if you would like to let me know what kind of topics you want to see on my channel to help you get there, head over to the video and drop your suggestions in the comment section (and yes, I read every single one!!).
