Future Proof Your Business with YouTube and AI

For the last 15 years, the way businesses have been found online has stayed mostly the same. We relied on the big five: websites, blogging, social media, email, and ads. Sure, platforms came and went, think about MySpace, Vine, even Clubhouse, but the categories stayed stable. The marketing ecosystem didn’t really shift… until now.

What we’re experiencing today is the biggest disruption in more than a decade, and it’s happening faster than most business owners are prepared for. Artificial intelligence isn’t just a buzzword, it’s changing how people discover, evaluate, and buy from businesses.

When someone needs help, they’re not scrolling Instagram for answers anymore. They’re opening ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity and asking direct questions. If your content isn’t structured for AI to find and recommend, you’re already falling behind.

The Explosion of AI Search

Let’s talk numbers. In the first five months of 2025 alone, ChatGPT weekly users doubled, from 400 million to 800 million. It’s on track to hit 1 billion weekly users before the end of the year. That’s not a fad. That’s a massive shift in consumer behavior.

By 2028, AI-powered searches are expected to surpass Google searches. Imagine that, something we’ve depended on for 20 years being overtaken in just three.

Here’s the kicker: AI can only recommend content it can read, categorize, and index.

Instagram stories? Invisible.

Reels? Invisible.

Even captions? Mostly ignored.

But YouTube videos? Fully visible. Fully indexable. And not just by YouTube itself, but also by Google and AI platforms.

Real Clients Already Winning with AI

I don’t want this to feel theoretical. This shift is already happening for real business owners.

When I asked ChatGPT, “Can you recommend someone who can help me start living more frugal?” the first recommendation was my client Hope. Why? Because she has a library of searchable, indexed YouTube videos.

When I typed, “Who should I learn from if I’m looking to write my website copy?” the number one recommendation was my client Ashlyn Writes. Again, YouTube content is what’s putting her ahead.

Here’s an even bigger example. I asked, “I’m looking for a yoga membership that specializes in yoga for scoliosis.” ChatGPT not only recommended my client Christine’s program, Shine by Move with Scoliosis, it directly linked to her membership sales page. That’s AI working like your 24/7 sales rep.

Another client, Evelyn the Keto Lady, shows up in ChatGPT results when someone asks about starting a keto diet in their 40s.

These are real businesses selling real offers, courses, memberships, coaching programs, and AI is doing the recommending for them.

Why Instagram Content Fails You

Every week I talk to course creators, coaches, and service providers who are frustrated. They’re spending hours creating reels, stories, and carousels that vanish in less than 24 hours. Even the best captions can’t compete, because AI can’t read or index them in a meaningful way.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • If your content can’t be read by AI, it doesn’t exist in the new discovery system.

  • Podcasts without transcripts? Invisible.

  • Facebook Lives without repurposed notes? Invisible.

  • Instagram content, even if it goes “viral”? Invisible.

It doesn’t matter how hard you work on Instagram. To AI, you’re not even there.

YouTube Is Different

YouTube is owned by Google, so videos are already searchable in the world’s largest search engine. On top of that, AI platforms like ChatGPT are pulling from YouTube titles, descriptions, metadata, and transcripts. That means every video you publish is a long-term sales asset.

Even better, YouTube videos compound. One new video doesn’t just work for you once. It pushes traffic to older videos, building momentum over time.

That’s why my website and YouTube channel now get more traffic from ChatGPT and Perplexity than from Meta ads I actually pay for. Organic AI-driven traffic is outperforming paid ads.

Authority and Relevance Matter

Now, a quick word of caution. It’s not enough to just upload random YouTube videos and hope AI notices. Both YouTube and AI prioritize content that builds authority and relevance.

That means:

  • Longer-form videos are more powerful than shorts.

  • Consistency matters, because it builds authority.

  • Strategic content that addresses pain points and objections outperforms broad, generic ideas.

If you want to be the expert AI recommends, your channel has to prove you are the obvious choice.

What Happens If You Wait

Here’s what I hear from so many business owners: “I’ll start YouTube next quarter. I’ll launch my channel when I have more time.”

But every month you wait, your competitors are getting ahead. AI builds trust with the people it’s already recommending. The longer you put it off, the harder it will be to break in and claim that spot for yourself.

Ask yourself right now: if someone typed your niche into ChatGPT, would your name come up? If the answer is no, you need to make a change now.

The Playlist Funnel Strategy

This is where my system comes in. I don’t just post videos—I create what I call a Playlist Funnel.

A Playlist Funnel is a series of binge-worthy, strategic videos stacked together to guide a viewer through the buyer’s journey. Each video addresses a specific pain point, belief, or objection. The goal? Keep viewers watching, build trust, and position me as the go-to expert.

The more videos a person watches, the more the algorithm (and AI) trusts me. And the more my viewers trust me, the more likely they are to buy.

A Low-Stress Approach to YouTube

Here’s the best part: you don’t need endless content. One strategic video a week is enough to build authority, feed the algorithm, and future-proof your business.

Unlike Instagram, where you’re forced to post multiple times a day just to stay relevant, YouTube rewards depth and consistency. And because AI can read every video you create, each one becomes a long-term asset.

Future Proofing Your Business

The disruption is already here. AI is not a “someday” tool—it’s the system clients are using to decide who to learn from and who to buy from.

If you want to stop being invisible, your best move is to start creating AI-friendly, searchable content on YouTube. Build a Playlist Funnel. Publish consistently. Turn your channel into a reputation-building machine.

The businesses that adapt now will dominate the next decade. The ones that don’t will slowly disappear.
